ADMEC Multimedia Institute successfully organized the <\/span>Mega Design Competition 2025<\/b> which was a two days long design competition. It started on the <\/span>29th <\/b>and ran until the <\/span>30th of December<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

We conducted this <\/span>mega contest to test different skills<\/b> of our students from design approach, rapid visualization, adaptability, teamwork, communication, to presentation skills. It is indeed one of our unique <\/span>design events<\/b><\/a> that has multiple rounds, points-based selection and elimination.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A total of 31 students participated in this competition with great enthusiasm from all of our <\/span>creative courses<\/b><\/a>. We included students from <\/span>Graphic Design, UI\/UX, Animation, Video, and <\/b>Multimedia programs<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now we have a detailed day-wise breakdown of the entire contest.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Creative Mega Design Competition 2025 Begins\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Day 1 (29th December)<\/span><\/h3>\n

The competition started at sharp <\/span>9:00 AM<\/b> with lots of excitement and curiosity on the faces of students. There were two rounds in 1st day and one of them was an <\/span>elimination round<\/b> with 50% students eliminated from the competition.<\/span><\/p>\n

We informed students that the competition would progress through elimination rounds and <\/span>guided them to design smart, think fast, and manage time<\/b> effectively.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Round 1: Rapid Visual Thinking<\/b><\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Duration: 45 Minutes<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Type: Individual Round<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    We gave <\/span>one abstract word or emotion <\/b>to students<\/span> and asked them to visually express it through any format, like:<\/span><\/p>\n

    • Hand sketch<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Digital illustration<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Minimal poster<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Rules of the round:<\/span><\/h4>\n

      • Use only <\/span>2 colors <\/b>at max<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Don\u2019t add any text<\/b><\/li>\n
      • Use any medium like sketch, painting, or digital layout<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        This round was like a warm-up round and <\/span>tested the quick visualization skills<\/b> of students. We saw many students perform it brilliantly and almost all of them tried their best to qualify for this first round. Almost all students presented their <\/span>visual clarity and unique imagination<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        Round 2: Design Under Constraints<\/b><\/h3>\n
          \n
        • Duration: 90 Minutes<\/span><\/li>\n
        • Type: Individual Round<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Now the second round started and brought a <\/span>practical design brief<\/b> for all students. We gave a design theme to students with <\/span>two constraints<\/b>. There were some <\/span>random constraints <\/b>placed inside folded chits in a big bowl. We asked each student to pick any two constraints from that bowl and design according to them.<\/span><\/p>\n

          This part made the contest a little challenging for all.<\/span><\/p>\n

          • Social media reel and ads<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Both rounds had their points that we calculated for every student to prepare the list of top-qualified students from Round 1 and Round 2. Out of 31 students we selected <\/span>17 students <\/b>and<\/span> 14 students were eliminated. <\/b>Points of eliminated students were<\/span> carried forward to selected students.<\/span><\/p>\n

            All the qualified students showed satisfactory performance, strong concepts, and time management in the first two rounds on <\/span>Day 1st of our Mega Design Competition 2025.<\/b><\/p>\n

            Day 2 \u2013 Final Stages (30th December)<\/span><\/h3>\n

            The 2nd day of the competition covered up the most exciting phase with two unique rounds and elimination among the <\/span>17 selected students<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

            Round 3: Collaborative Design Sprint<\/span><\/h4>\n
              \n
            • Duration: 2\u20132.5 Hours<\/span><\/li>\n
            • Type: Team Round<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              We divided the qualified students into <\/span>mixed teams of three students. <\/b>In way we tried our best to maintain<\/span> a cross-disciplinary collaboration in each team.<\/span><\/p>\n

              We follow this formula:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

              1 Graphic student + 1 UI\/UX student + 1 Animation and Video student = a collaborative team<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

              What was the main task?<\/b><\/h5>\n

              Selected students had to create a complete <\/span>brand identity campaign<\/b> for a youth-focused app or product.<\/span><\/p>\n

                The Twist<\/span><\/h4>\n

                The twist entered the middle of round 3rd and surprised the students with the part called \u201c<\/span>client changes\u201d. <\/b>It<\/span> was introduced to students to give them an idea of how a client can change the designs midway and what they need to do to handle this. This change forced the teams to adjust quickly. We did it to <\/span>test the ability to work under real agency pressure<\/b>, the flexibility, and teamwork skills of our students.<\/span><\/p>\n

                We selected the top 6 students based on their performance from this round 3rd.<\/span><\/p>\n

                  Round 4: Design Pitch<\/span><\/h4>\n

                  This was the final round and the final test of the selected students. Now in this design pitch round students had to perform the following tasks:<\/span><\/p>\n

                  • Select one of their previous works and improve it<\/span><\/li>\n
                  • Prepare a <\/span>2-minute design pitch <\/b>and present it to the jury<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    The presentation part took place on 31st December before the award ceremony.<\/span><\/p>\n

                      This round evaluated <\/span>communication skills, confidence, and topic clarity <\/b>that were beyond visuals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                          Ending words on the Mega Design Competition 2025<\/b><\/h2>\n

                          The <\/span>Mega Design Competition 2025 <\/b>ended the year with success. It provided a platform to all of our students to showcase their skills and get industry exposure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

                          This event was more than just a contest; it was an eye-opener design challenge to help students in facing their weaknesses, handle pressure, and work in collaboration.<\/span><\/p>\n
